Hi, I'm Nelson Serrao

As I reflect on my journey, I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work in various industry verticals and with customer from small business all the way to large enterprise segments. This has given me the breadth and depth of experience that I am proud of.

My cultural background is Indian and I chose Australia to call home after moving here in 2006. After exiting a successful internet startup in the bustling city of Mumbai, I was looking for a change of scenery and couldn’t have found a better place than Melbourne. So many similarities but the one that stood out the most for me was that Melbourne was a melting pot of cultures and cuisines just like Mumbai.

Since moving to Melbourne, I have had a very successful career which started as a Network Engineer in one of Australia’s largest retailer. After a short stint there, I went on to lead the technology domain for a startup where I spent the next couple of years travelling around Australia helping customers. I always had a passion for travel and that dream came true with my next challenge as a technology trainer at a large IT training provider which let me visit several countries in the ASEAN region as well as the US and UK. After feeling a little exhausted living out of a suitcase, it was time to settle down and settle down I have. For the past 12 years, I have been working at Australia’s largest telco and IT services provider.

I am the proud father of two adorable kids – Nathan and Ayva who keep me on my toes round the clock and I am well looked after by my wife Ashika who makes sure I’m behaving at all times especially when it comes to testing her Canadian, Fijian, Indian accents.
